ABOUT KPL The most comprehensive and the best forensic laboratory of Turkey, KPL helps with the solution of almost all criminal cases, by means of science, in courts throughout the country and it provides support to investigative agencies.
Aimed to become the leader not only in Turkey but also in the world, KPL has raised its activities up to international level since 1999.
Apart from expertise services, the activities of training, research and publication at both national and international level, are also carried out in KPL.
KPL is aware that its future achievements depend upon the training and research activities of today. Regarding the staff as its most valuable resource, KPL carries out activities in order to help the staff become the best experts both at national and intenational level.
The future of criminal investigations makes its way to the structures which are totally supported by the scientifically processed evidence. Regulations adopted in Code of Criminal Procedure have lead investigative units to make changes in the investigation and interrogation techniques, and to move onto the structure where criminal cases are solved and criminals are apprehended by means of scientifically processed evidence. And KPL is the most important component of this structure. Service quality of KPL is directly correlated with the ratio of criminals apprehended by the investigative units.
KPL has realized these achievements through the demanding work done by all ever staff. And the name currently commanding the KPL family is Mr. Seyit DEMİRCİ, who was the previous vice president appointed as the Head of KPL on 13th August, 2002.
Seyit DEMİRCİ The Head of KPL;
Born in 1959 in Akören district of Konya. Graduated from Police College in 1976, and from Police Academy in 1979. Following his graduation he started off as a Ballistics assistant, having the rank of sergeant, in the Department of Criminal Police Laboratories. Became a Forensic Ballistics experts in 1982 and he left for Washington on guarding duty in 1985. Upon completion of the duty which took 4 years, he returned to the Department of Criminal Police Laboratories and was appointed to Diyarbakir Criminal Police Laboratory having the rank of Chief Inspector. He was promoted to the rank of superintendent in 1991 and was appointed to the Department of Criminal Police Laboratories for the Office of Ballistic Examinations Section Management in 1993. He became the Vice President of KPL in 1998 and in three years time was appointed as the Head of KPL on 13th of August 2002. Awarded quite a lot number of Certificates of Esteem and Rewards of Salary during his 23 year-of-service and currently being the Head of KPL, Seyit DEMİRCİ is married and father to two children. ------------------------------- Heads of KPL since Its foundation...< Coming up...>
